Time
Hmmmmmm... not sure what happened here but it looks like nothing has happened since August 11... well I can assure you that it is not the case. In fact so many things, so many wonderful things have happened that I haven't had time to sit and write about them. I want so badly to share all of the exciting things that have been happening in the past... wait, seriously 3 months?!?! But I haven't wanted to take the time away from those wonderful things to sit here. And I'm not complaining that I'm too busy, because I've actually gained an appreciation and a love for our schedule and our lives right now. Take for instance today. We went for a walk and then ate breakfast. We went to go look at a "new" couch for our family room. We looked for a new computer for Brian's office. We ate lunch. Brian went to work and Caden took a nap while Mikayla and I did our school work (can't wait to tell you about that!). Then Mikayla rested while I made cinnamon raisin bread in the bread maker, 2 batches of lasagna sauce, enchilada soup for supper, and apple crisp for tomorrow. Add to that finishing up Mikayla's 5th scrapbook and continue preparing for my scrapbooking weekend, and starting a very large picture transfer project to hopefully ease our old and very full computer. Kids were then up and played outside. Then I ran to the dollar store and the thrift store with both kids in hand. We found snow boots for Mikayla (for $6!) and I found a vintagey (I know it's not a word) jacket for me and then all of Mikayla's birthday party supplies and finishing touches for Mikayla's homemade/ "home found" Halloween costume. Who knew you could spend only $6 on all the paper products for a party? I LOVE the dollar store! Then finished supper and ate and now I sit here while the kids are in the tub, under Brian's close watch, with a kitchen full of dirty dishes and yet I feel such peace about accomplishing so much. Things like that used to overwhelm me and upset me, but I'm trying so hard to have a different perspective on life. Life is too short to be stressed about everything. I am grateful for my time at home, even though 2 days ago I begged Brian to let me to go work so he could stay home with 2 VERY cranky kids :) We survived the day, barely, despite the screaming in the middle of North 11th street and the hair pulling during story time. I'll come back to this life eventually because I want to document our adventure with our Korean daughters, our picture perfect vacation to the Adirondacks, our school conundrum (this is my new favorite word), our kid free retreat to the Great Smoky Mountains, more Shutterfly books to share and so much more. So stayed tune...
