Movement

With your first child you wait in anticipation for movement... rolling over, crawling, standing, walking... then you learn.  With your second child you pray they stay stationary for as long as possible!  When my husband decided to encourage Caden to crawl I was less than pleased.  I could handle him rolling and pushing himself backwards but 1 day before he turned 8 months old he figured out "drive" and I panicked!  Sure it was cute at first and it's always nice to know that your child is meeting the "norms", but Caden figured out to get into a lot of trouble very quickly.  It took him about 1 day before he was speed crawling and a few weeks later he was pulling himself up and transferring between furniture.  I will admit he seems far more content to be moving.  It almost seems that he feels more a part of our family now that he can follow us and tries to keep up with us.  So far we have been able to get by without gates and our Christmas tree actually seemed uninteresting to him.  Here are a few pictures :)

He LOVES power cords!

He crawled into my closet and was so puzzled by his reflection :)

Yes he did this all on his own!

Not sure when we will enter the next stage of walking (Mikayla was walking by 11 months so it could be soon), but I do know that I will try to embrace it and remember that movement and growth are good things even though they make my life a little more difficult :)
